Cat/Cow Sequence

The cat and cow poses help restore flexibility and tone to the spine and restore the free flow of energy in the body. Begin on all fours (on your hands and knees) with your wrists and elbows under your shoulders, arms straight, your knees under your hips. Inhale, and as you do so, drop your chest, arch your back and bring your chest forward, head raised up toward the sky. Exhale, drop the head toward the floor, round the back, contract the abdominal muscles, and stretch the back upward toward the ceiling. like a Halloween cat. Continue, the movement matching the breath, for at least five more breaths in and out.
