Side bends

This pose is often called the standing half moon pose. Begin in mountain pose. Take a deep breath, arms extended overhead and gently bend to the side as you exhale. Pretend your body is between two pieces of sheet glass holding you in an upright position so that you do not drift forward or backward. Feel the opening on the side body, and take another breath or two, in and out. Inhale and return to the mountain position. Repeat on the opposite side.
